תערוכה בשיתוף צלמים מישראל ויפן לציון שבעים שנה לכינון היחסים הדיפלומטיים בין המדינות

ניתן למנות סיבות רבות לקיים אירוע אמנותי המציין שבעים שנה לכינון היחסים בין ישראל ויפן. בשנים האחרונות קשרי המסחר, התרבות ושיתופי הפעולה הטכנולוגיים בין שתי המדינות משגשגים באופן יוצא דופן, בייחוד בענפי המדע והחדשנות.

לכאורה, מבחינה תרבותית וחברתית ישנם הבדלים רבים בין המנטליות היפנית לזו הישראלית. בין היתר, אפשר לציין נורמות של איפוק מול החצנה, סדר ציבורי מול כאוס, סגירוּת וחשש משינויים מול פתיחוּת וגיוון. אולם אלה מעוררים גם סקרנות ועניין הדדיים ומעלים שאלות: כיצד אורח חיים כה שונה מייצר פריצות דרך טכנולוגיות? מה יש בכל אחת מהמדינות הללו שדוחף ליצירתיות ולחדשנות.

אני מוצאת גם שיש משותף בתחושת הגעגוע לרוח המסורת לרגעים קטנים ואינטימיים, לימים שהיו ולא יחזרו.

יצירות אמנות ובפרט צילום כשפה אוניברסלית ונגישה מחדדים עבורנו הן את ההבדלים והן את המשותף בין ישראל ויפן. זה לצד זה משקפים הצילומים בתערוכה זוויות ראייה חדשות ומעט שונות מאלו שהורגלנו בהן, של החיים שם ופה, כאן ועכשיו.

בפרויקט יוצגו כחמישים עבודות של צלמים יפנים וישראלים, כל אחד ואחת מהם חושפים פתרונות יצירתיים שונים ונקודת מבט אישית וכן לאומית במידה מסוימת.

.Intimacy and collectivity through Japanese and Israeli lenses

There are many reasons to hold an artistic event to mark the seventieth anniversary of
Israeli-Japanese diplomatic relations. In recent years, trade,cultural ties, and cooperation
between the two countries have thrived, with innovative branches in particular such as
.science and technology making a tremendous leap forward

Culturally, on the other hand, the two countries have less in common. The societal and
cultural structures in Japan and Israel are different, and could even be described in terms of
polar opposites such as restraint versus externalized expression; public
order versus chaos; alongside inward looking and homogeneity versus outward looking and
diversity
These aspects spark curiosity and interest on both sides. How can such culturally different
backgrounds lead to technological breakthroughs on both sides? What is it about these two
nations that drive creativity and innovation? Can art capture these differences as well as
?the commonalities
I find that we also share the longing for the spirit of tradition, small intimate moments
.days that are never to return

No other artistic medium is more suitable than photography—a static snapshot thatcaptures long-standing characteristics—to illustrate the discrete perspectives and zoom in

on the contrasts and commonalities. Due to its wide accessibility, the photographic mediumis currently at the center of artistic discourses it is a universal language and a tool we all use
The exhibition will feature some fifty works by Japanese and Israeli photographers surveying
individual creative solutions as well as personal and to some extent national ones
